The following is a list of awards offered by private companies and organizations that may be of interest to current University of Winnipeg students. We update this webpage monthly, so students can search for scholarship opportunities year-round.

When using these search tools, we recommend that you try to apply directly through the sponsor's webpage if available. We also suggest doing an internet search for scholarships directly related to your faculty or department.
List of awards offered by private companies and organizations
Applications open year-round-awards of up to $40,000 for veterans with a minimum of six years of service and up to $80,000 for veterans with at least 12 years of service.
Deadlines vary depending on award-awards and scholarships to students.
Application Deadline August, November, and February annually (on site year round)-Indspire is the largest supporter of Indigenous education outside the federal government. To date Indspire has awarded more than $54 million in scholarships and bursaries to 16,000 First Nation, Inuit and Métis recipients nationwide. Indspire disburses funds to Indigenous youth across Canada, covering all disciplines in funding categories in post-secondary education.
Application due May and July-A $3000 bursary for a First Nations, Métis, and/or Inuit student pursuing graduate studies with demonstrated financial need.
Application Due September-Thirteen scholarships to Manitoba students in post-secondary studies.
Application Due September and December-Four bi-annual $1000 scholarships for students who can describe the importance of financial literacy.
Application Due September 19-$5000 scholarships and paid internships for indigenous students pursuing engineering.
Application Due October-A $2000 scholarship available to undergraduate and graduate students.

These awards are available to Métis students attending participating universities in Manitoba.
For consideration, University of Winnipeg students are required to submit two applications:
- UW online award application- complete and submit the General Application and indicate you are Métis. The application opens in August.
- LRI PDF application- the Louis Riel Institute confirms if applicants are eligible by verifying Métis ancestry or MMF membership through their application form.
Annual deadline: you must submit both applications by October 1.
After the deadline, the Louis Riel Institute confirms if applicants are eligible based on MMF membership, and the university chooses eligible recipients based on demonstrated financial need. Students are eligible to apply for this award every year they are attending the university. It is awarded once per academic year.

Application Due October 31-Two $1000 awards available to applicants between 17-35 years old who are currently a member of Fogolar Association of Winnipeg or a direct descendant of someone from either the FVG or Veneto regions of Italy.
