Join us this week for the 23rd Annual UWpg Film Festival, October 22 - 24! All events and screenings are entirely FREE and open to the public.
23rd UWpg Film Festival
OCTOBER 22 - 24, 2025
The UWpg Film Festival, presented by the Theatre and Film Department, hosts three days of FREE panels and screenings dedicated to showcasing the best work by post-secondary students. The festival culminates with an awards ceremony Friday night to honour the best of the Festival.

UWpg Film Festival events are entirely FREE! All events take place in person at the Asper Centre for Theatre and Film.
EVENTS BEGIN EACH EVENING AT 6:30 pm and include brief intermissions between segments.
Oct 22: Film Training Manitoba's Super Six: U of W Alumni Panel. This panel gives Manitoban film professionals a chance to share their experiences with both experienced and aspiring film professionals. Following the panel, Shorts 1 screens, a program featuring work from post-secondary students from across the country.
Oct 23: Two programs of screenings, Shorts 2 and Shorts 3, which includes the animation shorts.
Oct 24: Keynote Address by Tina Keeper followed by Shorts 4, then the Awards ceremony and reception.
Vote for your favourite film in the festival each night for the Festival's Howard Curle Audience Choice Award presented Friday night!

There are no tickets or reservations required for the UWpg Film Festival.
Our events are open to UWinnipeg staff, faculty, and students, as well as the general public.
