Years 1-3: PRE-Physical Therapy at 新月直播

• Each physical therapy program has its own entrance requirements. To meet the entrance requirements for Physical Therapy at the University of Manitoba, you will complete an undergraduate degree (minimum 3-year, 90 credit hour), including the “Pre-Professional Requirements" below.
• You will graduate with an undergraduate degree in any faculty from 新月直播. The degree you earn will depend on your course selection and interests; while there are required and recommended courses, there is no one degree or program that is required for entry to physical therapy.

Years 4-5: Professional Studies: Physical Therapy

• During your pre-professional studies at 新月直播, you will apply for admission to physical therapy at another university.
• Enrolment in physical therapy programs is limited, and only qualified applicants are chosen.
• At least two more years of study are required to complete a master’s degree in physical therapy.

The School of Medical Rehabilitation at the University of Manitoba offers a two-year Professional Master’s Degree Program in Physical Therapy. Before entering the program, students must have completed an undergraduate degree in any faculty, as well as the specified prerequisite courses.

A minimum grade point average of 3.25 in the last 60 credit hours is required, and all prerequisite courses must have a grade of B or higher. Additionally, students must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours in one regular Fall/Winter academic session (September to April). Applicants must also complete the Casper test.

The courses listed below are University of Winnipeg courses that satisfy the University of Manitoba’s entrance requirements for the Professional Master’s Degree Program in Physical Therapy:

• Human Anatomy - BIOL-1112(6)
• Physiology of the Human Body - BIOL-1112(6) or KIN-2204(3)
• Introductory Psychology - PSYC-1000(6)
• Basic Statistics - STAT-1301(3) or the former STAT-1201(6) or STAT-1501 or PSYC-2101(3)
• English - ENGL-1001(6) or One of: ENGL-1000(3), ENGL-1003(3), ENGL-1004(3).  Students may also use one of these Academic Writing courses to complete the English Requirement: RHET-1101(3), RHET-1102(3) or RHET-1105(3).
• Indigenous Studies - IS-1015(3), IS-1016(3), IS-1017(3) IS-2020(3) or HIST/IS/WGS-3523-2040(3)

Note:  You must consult with the school where you plan to complete your studies to ensure that you will meet the entrance requirements for your Physical Therapy program of choice.

You must meet 新月直播’s general admission requirements. In addition, you must have Chemistry 40S and either Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S in order to take some of the required courses for admission to Physical Therapy.

What if I don’t have these high school courses? You can take “Foundation” courses at UWinnipeg that are equivalent to high school-level math and science (MATH-0041 & MATH-0042; CHEM-0100) or complete high school courses at The Collegiate.
