CHARACTER OF THIS CLASSIFICATION LEVEL

In positions at this level, incumbents provide general utility services or assistance to various personnel and/or departments.  Under direct supervision, incumbents are responsible for the general preparation and moving of equipment and materials, assembly and disassembly of equipment and materials and assisting personnel as required.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WHICH ARE INTENDED TO ILLUSTRATE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS CLASSIFICATION LEVEL AND SHOULD NOT BE INTERPRETED AS A DESCRIPTION OF ANY ONE INDIVIDUAL POSITION WITHIN THIS CLASSIFICATION LEVEL
  1. Unloads supplies and moves them to allocated areas
  2. Sets up and takes down tables, chairs, dividers, displays, etc., for registration
  3. Moves materials, furniture and equipment from one area to another
  4. Moves and/or relocates books and stacks to specified areas
  5. Assists in the installation of furnishings and equipment
  6. May prepare materials and/or equipment for moving and/or shipping
  7. Performs other related duties as required or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

The minimum qualifications necessary for acceptable (satisfactory)  performance are:

Level of Formal Education 

  • High school completion or equivalent 
Experience
  • No previous experience is necessary as on-the-job training is provided
  • or
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively
Physical Requirements
  • Moderate to heavy lifting is a requirement
  • Capable of performing the duties as assigned
